Sports Massage Practitioner (BSc, MSMA) Sports massage refers to the discipline of using massage to manage, manipulate and rehabilitate the soft tissues of the body e.g. ligaments, tendons and muscles. Regardless of whether you exercise or play sport to keep fit, or compete from club to international level, then sports massage may well have something to offer you. Under current law anyone can refer to themselves as a sports massage practitioner or sports therapist. However standards of training and practive vary enormously. Any practitioner you decide to visit should be a member if the Sports Massage Association (SMA). They will have the letters MSMA after their name. As a member of the Sports Massage Association I will be able to identify anyone for whom sports massage would be ill-advised or detrimental to their short or long-term well being. I will assess each individual and orivude the appropriate massage techniques, and advise on alternative action if required. Prices of Sports Massage: 30 minutes-£20 60 minutes-£30 This service can be delivered in a treatment room environment or as a mobile service.
